Salary: $51,000-$56,000/yr; Commensurate with Experience
We are currently seeking a creative and dynamic Graphics Manager who is responsible for ensuring that Riverbanks’ visual communication aligns with our mission and overall park aesthetics. In this role, you will provide support and direction for new and ongoing design projects, layout and production of signs, interpretive graphics, marketing materials, and digital and print advertisements. Additionally, you will provide leadership and guidance to the Graphics Assistant. This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications.
Essentials Functions:
- Produces graphics items from inception to finished products for external and some internal communication. Includes design, formatting, production, and installation.
- Use Adobe Creative Cloud applications specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel). Other applications may be used if the project requires and as technology progresses.
- Reviews and ensures that graphics requests are completed to meet organization guidelines and deadlines.
- Serves as designer for Riverbanks Magazine. Duties include, but are not limited to layout and design, scanning, photography, retouching, color correction and any other necessary graphics items.
- Coordinates with external vendors, marketing partners, and internal departments on in-park graphics, installation, and other related projects.
- Performs routine checks and upkeep of all signs, graphics, etc. on Zoo and Garden campuses.
- Maintains Riverbanks’ graphics collections.
- Completes necessary departmental administrative functions.
Education and Experience: Associate degree in graphic design, visual communication or art related field; bachelor’s degree preferred. Three to five years’ experience in sign, publication and digital graphics, one of which has been in a supervisory capacity or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
